Portable Appliance Testing (PAT)

Current legislation and regulations state that an employer must maintain and prove that they are maintaining all their electrical appliances. We provide an easy and cost effective way for businesses to comply with the following:

Health & Safety at Work Act 1974, the Management of Health & Safety at Work Regulations 1999

Electricity at Work Regulations 1989, the Workplace (Health, Safety and Welfare) Regulations 1992

Provision and Use of Work Equipment Regulations 1998

The Health & Safety at Work Act 1974 puts the duty of care upon both the employer and the employee to ensure the safety of all persons using the work premises. This includes the self-employed.

Computers, lamps, shredders, heaters, phone chargers, microwave ovens, kettles, vacuum cleaners, indeed anything with a mains plug! Even if you are not using it! Where an appliance has a separate mains lead, the lead itself also has to be separately tested.

Even if you are not an electrical/electronic company, whatever your business, your mains equipment needs to be PAT certified.

We offer a mobile PAT service to clients whereby we take the responsibility for all your equipment by visiting your premises and providing test and certification. Our technicians are qualified to IEE standards
